April 29, 2019 – STEM Japanese Eatery wins big at the 30th Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards. STEM wins GOLD for Best New Restaurant — making it only the third restaurant outside the city of Vancouver to win the award in the VanMag history. STEM also caused an upset in the wildly competitive Best Japanese category, capturing GOLD for 2019.
The STEM team was on hand at the 30th Anniversary event of the annual Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards and were totally floored when the winners were announced.
Partner Owners, Chef Tatsuya Katagiri and Chef Yoshiaki Maniwa are grateful to their supporters and new friends in their neighborhood. When they opened the doors on December 15, 2017, their dream was to give the local community a place to enjoy great Japanese kappo style cuisine in an inviting setting. “We were so happy and surprised with these two awards,” said Chef Katagiri.
Thank you to all of our staff and patrons!
